My journey into strengthening, releasing, healing and

energy work has been a long and interesting one

~Here is my story...

I first became interested in body and energy work while practicing

the art of TaeKwonDo over 25 years ago. At that time, I was

exposed to a variety of different arts and healing methods that have

been used by practitioners in the far east for centuries. It was from

there, that I moved into personal training~ I didn't understand at

the time, but I had (and still do) a strong desire to help people attain

their goals, no matter what area they pursue them in!

It was while I was dedicated to getting people in shape, that I was

exposed to a new and different type of training call "Resistance

Stretching" or "Eccentric Training", a method of increasing

flexibility and strength by continuous movement, as opposed to

static or PNF stretching. I experienced immediately more mobility

by working a different muscle group than the one I was feeling

restrictions in and what I was expecting! It was from there I

learned about opposite muscle entanglements, strength through full

muscle extension, range of movements, fascia restrictions and how

to release them. I studied this muscle release technique for two

years, attaining the level of a Master Level VI Trainer (Innovative

Body Solutions, Ki~Hara) while I lived in Miami Beach, and built

up a large clientele there. At the same time while pursuing that, I

was also introduced to Thai massage, and how to release stuck

energy restrictions through stretching and pressure, and became i

mmediately engrossed in learning all I could about that. So I also

spent two years training with Sacred Body Works in Miami Beach

to become a certified Thai Massage Specialist.

Being exposed to these different modalities, and starting with the

understanding of balance (yin/yang), I began to explore how muscle

groups affect opposite and balancing muscle groupings, and began

to understand how they are all interconnected. Thinking of our

bodies "globally", and not as individual moving parts. Most times,

injuries and pain occur because of a muscle imbalance or an

incorrect biomechanical movement in a completely different area,

and our bodies are just trying to compensate for that. One great

example is an issue that starts in the foot or toe, say for example,

you stub your toe or step on something hard. Your body immediately

starts to compensate by not putting as much pressure on that side.

Our bodies are made to just keep accomplishing a task, they're not

designed to move necessarily in a "correct biomechanical plane"...

so, by over compensating to the other foot, different muscles become

engaged to keep moving, and your body starts to overcompensate,

affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, and even the skeletal system.

.. eventually, you will feel pain in your upper back/shoulder/neck

area. And this is where many times, relief does not come, or it may

only be temporary, because by concentrating on the area where you

feel pain, you will NOT get the initial problem corrected! I have

worked on clients who have had problems for YEARS and were

never or rarely able to get any relief until we worked on the issue,

and in one session, they felt immediate relief!

It was during this time, that I started combining both modalities in

order to help my clients, and I was amazed at the results! Some

clients increased their ROM immediately after one session! Others

were relieved of nagging aches and pains after years of other

unsuccessful treatments in other modalities and body work.

Sometimes it worked, but only temporarily, because the root issue

was never corrected. It was then that I realized that taking the best

of all that I have learned and combining it into one type of therapy

would do the most help for everyone!  So I spent years combining

both modalities into what I now call Qi (energy) Centric (negative

muscle movement) Flow Therapy, where I use ancient far east

energy flow and muscle release techniques along with current

muscle facia release and eccentric training techniques in order to

help my clients achieve balance in movement, peak athletic

performance, overcome injury, and build strength through their

muscles complete ROM!

I would love to help YOU achieve the level of success that you

deserve to accomplish and the ability to live pain free everyday!
